Botox Treatments | Huntington NY

Botox treatments are the most popular and widely sought after anti-aging procedure in the world. Over 4 million people use Botox treatments each year. Botulinum Toxin Type A, also known as Botox for short is simply a purified protein originating from the clostridium botulinum bacteria.

Botox restricts the movement of chemicals that allow facial muscles to contract, Botox blocks these receptors and allows muscles to relax. The effect of Botox lasts 3-4 months. After 3-4 months the effects of Botox will wear down and the muscles will regain their chemical signals allowing them to contract again.

Botox is best used on dynamic muscle movements that include:

  • Crows feet
  • Forehead lines
  • Brow line
  • Bunny lines

Botox may also be used to treat:

  • Peri Oral Lines (Lines around the mouth)
  • Chin
  • Jaws
  • Necks
  • Corners of the mouth

Additionally, Botox may be used to treat excessive sweating with a series of injections in the underarm. These Botox treatments may last up to 10 months.

Botox requires an understanding of muscular functions within the body, and as such it is vitally important to be treated by an experienced facility.

At NO LINEZ Aesthetics a & Laser Spa, Dr. Ester Sumitra-Albert injects botox with an anatomical understanding of muscular fibers will give you the appearance you desire.

What are the risks of treatment?

There is little risk with botox as found in the extensive studies conducted over the last decade. However, some patients may experience swelling, redness and or bruising at the injection sites. These effects are usually temporary and generally disappear within a few short minutes.

How fast will I see results?

Botox results will be seen as early as 2 days, sometimes it may take up to 14 days for full effect. Botox treatments usually last 3-4 months, however with repeated injections, longer durations may be expected.

What can I expect during the treatment?

The Botox injections are virtually painless. Dr. Sumitra-Albert uses very fine insulin needles during the Botox procedure and no special preparation is required. Topical Anesthetic cream is available.

What can I expect after treatment?

Patients may expect slight swelling, redness or bruising at the injection site.

Patients will be asked to move the muscles at the injection site for approximately 10 minutes post injection. This will allow the Botox treatment to move throughout the tissue at a faster rate and longer duration. Patients are asked not to touch or rub the injected area or lower their head for 4 hours.
